US NREL will develop a revolutionary battery energy storage method

Author :Iflowpower – Portable Power Station Supplier

Recently, the US Department of Energy APRA-E announced that the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will use innovative chemical materials, design, etc., develop new electric vehicle energy storage systems. The research and development is one of the 22 items of APRA-E "next-generation energy storage revival plan" (RANGE).

APRA-E New Project "Next Generation Botility Revitalization Plan" (Range) is designed to accelerate electric vehicles in the United States. Jeremyneubauer, head of NREL project: "I am very happy to have the opportunity to participate in the development of new electric car batteries. This battery can reach APRA-E for all requirements for electric vehicle safety, low cost and performance.

We have confidence to develop a new battery system, let the electric car can open more, safer. "NREL will work together with EIC laboratory and ChemTura. NREL will use organic storage materials to develop new low-cost batteries.

This battery is similar to the flow battery (liquid flow battery is stored in an anode fluid and cathode liquid that can be stored in battery electrodes). At present, the most advanced liquid flow cells in the world have problems with relatively low energy density, low efficiency, reliability difference, which greatly affects the transportation of equipment. NREL developed this new battery will overcome these issues.
