SUMMITMICROELECTRONICS launches power supply IC-SMB135 that utilizes a USB interface or AC adapter for lithium-ion rechargeable battery, an important facing portable music player, mobile phone and GPS navigator and other products. The electronic terminal of the built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be gradually popularized by the function of charging through the USB interface. At present, there have been a variety of power ICs for such uses, and Summit indicates that the product has been greatly shortened to shorten the charging time, and the package size is small and efficient.

The company claims that charging time can be shortened by 33% -66% compared to old products because it can improve the current at the time of charging, and can optimize supply current according to the charging characteristics of the lithium ion rechargeable battery. From the supply capacity of the USB interface, usually the voltage is + 5V, the maximum current is 500mA. The SMB135 is converted to the charge voltage of the voltage into a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, and the maximum supply of 750mA is supplied.

The input voltage of the SMB135 is + 4.35V- + 6.0V, and also supports the power-based power supply mode based on the AC adapter.

SMB135 is a mode of switching power, more than 90% conversion efficiency. Existing linear regulator is only 50% -75%. By increasing efficiency, the fever phenomenon can be controlled, and the chip-level package (CSP, ChipscalePackage) miniature package can be used.
