KYMCO has recently launched an IONEX electric motorcycle in the 2018 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which has become a pioneer of the new battery charging strategy. This manufacturer proposes a power outlet network that combines a typical charging station with battery exchange vending machine, and is commercially available. In the next three years, KYMCO plans to launch 10 electric automotive types, establish a charging network in 20 countries, and sell more than 5 million electric motorcycles worldwide.
IONEX itself does not seem to supply any radical technologies, importantly popular multi-year 110 gasoline version design, using VESPA-style transmission. KYMCOLEX is equipped with central processor coordination best charging process. IONEX is driven by the electric motor on the rear hub, powered by a series of batteries.
There is a non-detachable core battery installed on the saddle and the wobble arm pivot, and two detachable battery slots under the central floor. They are responsible for driving the motor while charging the core battery during the movement, and once the other batteries are exhausted, it will act as the last backup battery drive motor. Charging can be achieved in several ways; typical includes charging the electric motorcycle charging line directly into the power socket, and charging the detachable battery at home or in the portable charger of the workplace, there is an IONEX energy station.
KYMCO will establish a power outlet similar to a vending machine that stores the battery and completes charging within an hour. Similar to the battery exchange method proposed in Gogoro a few years ago, KYMCO plans to build a wide enough charging network, which will be open to all manufacturers because Kymco invites them to participate in their own compatible batteries. This can also include battery exchange, so that it is possible to become the world's first multi-function open energy platform.
