Recently, the official car group officially announced that the battery recovery plan will be opened in overseas markets. It is reported that the Mass Group will enable the first automobile power lithium-ion battery recovery factory located in Salzgite, and the initial planning is 30,600 battery systems annually. According to the official supply information, before the recycling of the waste battery, the Salzgite Factory will confirm whether the battery has sufficient power, can continue to be used in a mobile energy storage system such as a flexible and fast charging station or charging robot.

At the same time, a large number of battery recycling requirements may begin to appear from the end of the 2020, and the initial planning of the factory recovers 3,600 battery systems each year, equivalent to 1,500 tons. The recovered old battery will be depically discharged, disassembled, and the battery assembly is pulverized into particles and then dry sieves. In addition to producing aluminum, copper and plastic, it also produces lithium, nickel, Manganese, cobalt and graphite or other battery raw materials.

Through wet metallurgy, these raw materials will be separated and processed and reused. According to the calculation, if the cathode material of the battery is made of regenerated raw material, green electricity is used during the production process of the battery, then each 62kWh battery pack can reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of about 1.3 tons.

At present, the Volkswagen overseas market is included in the model of id.3, id.4 and other models, and with the gradual increase in electric vehicle models and quantities in the future, efficient battery recovery is critical.
