Lithium-ion batteries will decrease after using a certain cycle, while the internal resistance increases. What is this reason? Causes of lithium-ion battery capacity reduction 1) Each charge and discharge will cover a portion of lithium ions on the surface of the negative electrode, hinder the embedding of normal lithium ions, and have more and more accumulated after multiple cycles. The capacity begins to decrease significantly.
2) The metal lithium formed between the negative electrode and the diaphragm can block the pore of the diaphragm to increase the internal resistance of the battery. 3) The inert substance in the electrochemical reaction inside the lithium ion battery will destroy the capacity balance between the electrodes, resulting in a loss of capacity. This loss is usually irreversible.
4) Self-discharge. Self-discharge means a phenomenon in which the battery is naturally lost in unused state. Since the state of lithium ion battery due to storage, the capacity is reduced, but this can restore the battery capacity by charge and discharge.
5) Electrode instability. The positive electrode active substance is oxidized in the charging state to decompose capacity loss.
