According to foreign media reports, Audi is tested in its importance of the use of waste lithium-ion batteries in its important plant in Indolstadt, Germany. As with other car manufacturers, in accordance with the law, Audi also reclaims electric vehicles. Since such cells still have good original charging capabilities, Audi's interdisciplinary group is studying how to continue to reasonably use the Audi E-Tron testing car, or Audia3e-Tron and Audiq7e-Tron and other hybrid vehicles.

In the test phase, the remarkable benefits of reuse of batteries have emerged. So far, Audi Factory's forklift and tractor and other vehicles have been using lead-acid batteries. When this type of battery power is used, the employees will remove the 12-ton battery from the car and connect the battery to the charging station, charge a few hours.

However, the lithium-ion battery allows the vehicle to transfer time during the factory change during the factory, charge the parking place, not only saving space, but also eliminates the artificial high-quality labor required to replace the battery. If Audi converts the battery of the car team within 16 production bases in the world to a lithium-ion battery, it will save millions of dollars. The battery of the Audi E-TRON model consists of 36 separate battery modules, which is installed below the passenger bit between the axle, which is flat.

After the battery is recycled, the project team will check if each module can be used, and then 24 battery modules are installed at each new battery shuttle. The size and weight of the lead-acid battery used in the module and the factory vehicle are the same, so companies do not need to be transformed to vehicle. In the future, professional employees can be responsible for the assembly of secondary batteries at Audi's battery centers.

Members of the project team come from production, logistics and research and development departments, have worked for two years in the field of waste battery modules. After the first test is successful, the project group is testing the first modified factory vehicle in daily production. The groundbreaking project is one of the many projects that Audi is committed to further and efficiently using electric vehicle batteries.

In addition, the used battery modules can also be used for mobile charging vessels or fixed energy storage systems for electric vehicles. Moreover, Audi is still developing recycling concept: At the end of the battery lifecycle, valuable part of the battery will flow into new products and continue to use. .
